Position Title:                          DIRECTOR OF FINANCE / Controller           


Job Description:                      Serves as District’s Chief Financial Officer and Controller. Performs a variety of executive, administrative and managerial duties related to managing, monitoring and overseeing day-to-day business operations of the District, including planning, organizing, controlling, and coordinating the implementation, maintenance and monitoring of district accounting and financial reporting system; including budget, payroll, accounts payable, revenue collection, purchasing, and billing. Also serves as the District’s data analyst having primary responsibility for the management of data collection and analysis as well as information organization and communication.


Minimum Qualifications:        Graduation from college with a master’s degree in accounting, business or a related field; and, at least five (5) years of work experience as a Finance Director, Controller, Information Manager, or some other related field, including supervisor duties. CPA or CGFM credential is required.


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Thorough knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping practices and procedures; generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), governmental accounting; Working knowledge of public funds investment options; computer software and other analytical tools of the industry. Write detailed reports and make presentations to District management, board of trustees, public, and other outside organizations.


Considerable skill in the art of diplomacy and cooperative problem solving; leadership; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with State, Federal, and other local officials, elected officials, and subordinate staff; office management practices and procedures; inter-personal communication skills.



Starting Salary Range:            $80,000 - $100,000 - Negotiable DOE; Full time with benefits
