AWWA Fresh Ideas Poster Competition

The Young Professional/Student first place winner from the ACE15 Fresh Ideas Poster competition is David Yonge from the Florida Section for his poster entitled “Assessing Hollow-Fiber Membrane Performance Using Bench-Scale Laboratory and Pilot-Scale Field Methods.” As first place winner, Yonge will receive $500 and the opportunity to write an article for Journal AWWA, AWWA’s flagship publication that includes both professional and scholarly content.

The second place winner is Dhritikshama Roy from the Minnesota Section for her poster entitled “Ammonia Oxidizing Archaea in Drinking Water Plants and Distribution System.”

The winners who tied for third place are Katherine Phetxumphou for her poster entitled “Evaluating the Readability and Clarity of Mandated EPA Drinking Water Quality Reports: A National Assessment,” and Peiran Zhou for his poster entitled “Looking at Chlorination in a New Light: Solar Photolysis of Chlorine to Ozone and Hydroxyl Radical for Inactivation of Chlorine-Resistant Microorganisms.” Phetxumphou represented the Virginia Section and Zhou represented the Pacific Northwest Section in this competition.
