Water Week 2015 will be coming up May 3rd – 9th and the Youth and Consumer Education Committee is already planning the many events and activities that will be part of the celebrations this year. The theme this year is Water: Wild and Wonderful and we have several fun activities and contests, that include cash prizes, planned to help educate our consumers about water and its value.  Some of the activities we are currently planning include:

·          4th Grade Poster Contest

·          Video Contest

·          Photo Contest

·          Pharmaceutical Take Back Event

·          Water Treatment Facility and Conservation Garden Tours

·          Library Program

One of the programs we are most excited about is our Library program where we send a water related children’s book to every library in the State along with a packet of information that they can use to help educate their patrons about water.  We are looking to expand this program this year by coordinating AWWA volunteers to actually go into the libraries during Water Week to read the sponsored book to the children.  If you are interested in helping with this program or any of the other Water Week Events please contact Shazelle Terry at 801-446-2000.
