
2011 Scholarship Recipients
Allia Abu-Ramalieh is a Masters student in Environmental Engineering at Utah State University. Her research is investigating arsenic mobilization in groundwater. She was awarded the AWWA Intermountain Undergraduate Scholarship in 2009, and is involved in a variety of activities such as the Society of Women Engineers, the Society of Environmental Engineers, and the Water Environment Association.
Katie Fisher is a junior at Utah State University seeking a degree in Watershed and Earth Systems. She is currently working as a lab technician in a limnology lab. She also has experience as an intern for USU water quality extension and as a Summer Lakes Research Assistant in Alaska. She would like to pursue a career in urban watershed planning.
Christine Rumsey is in the M.S. program in Environmental Engineering at Utah State University. She has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Wyoming, and also studied abroad in Guatemala. She was a project leader for an Engineers Without Borders project in Kenya. Her current research focuses on water quality in Pineview Reservoir.
Adel Abdallah is finishing his M.S. degree in Water Resources Engineering at Utah State University, and will start in the PhD program this spring. He received his B.S. degree from An-Najah National University in Palestine, and then worked for two years as research assistant and an environmental engineer. His graduate research is modeling water and energy conservation at the household and city scale.
