
Nominees for National Director
The National Director Nominating Committee, appointed by Florence Reynolds, has submitted three nominees for National Director to the Intermountain Section Board:
- David E. Hansen
- David Pitcher
- Mark Stanley
The National Director will be elected by vote of the Section members present at the annual meeting. The voting will occur by ballot at the Annual Conference in Sun Valley. The new National Director will take office at the conclusion of ACE11 in June, prior to the Section’s 2011 Annual Conference in St. George.

David E. Hansen, Ph.D., P.E.

Dr. David Hansen is a principal in the firm of Hansen, Allen & Luce, Inc. and is a registered professional engineer in the states of Utah, Idaho, Colorado and Wyoming. He has been involved in the engineering profession since 1976 and a consulting engineer since graduating with his Ph.D. in 1983 from Utah State University. Dr. Hansen became involved with AWWA shortly after graduation through presentations made at the annual conferences, and after a couple of years was asked to join the annual conference program committee. After two years Dr. Hansen was asked to take on the responsibility for the annual conference program, followed by a nomination to the Intermountain Section Board where he served as chair in 2004. Since 2004 Dr. Hansen returned to his service as the annual conference chair, then most recently as the Board Council Chair over the Annual Conference committee. Dr. Hansen is the 2003 recipient of the Outstanding Service Award and the 2007 George Warren Fuller Award, and would appreciate the opportunity of continuing to serve the Intermountain Section of AWWA as their National Director. |

David Pitcher, P.E.

Dave has been a member of AWWA since 1991. He has served as chair of the teleconference committee, chair of communications and member services council, and served on the Intermountain Section board of AWWA for the past 5 years. Dave is the Assistant General Manager/Chief Engineer for Central Utah Water Conservancy District and has worked for the District the past 21 years and previously with the State of Utah Division of Water Resources. He is a registered professional engineer in Utah and graduated from BYU and Utah State University with bachelor and master degrees in civil engineering. Dave and his wife, Carol, have 5 children and live in Orem, Utah. |

Mark Stanley

Mark Stanley is the Operations and Maintenance Superintendent for the Salt Lake City Department of Public Utilities, directing the Water, Wastewater and Storm Water O&M divisions. He has over 35 years of experience in the construction and water/wastewater industry; has been with the City for 28 years, 23 of which has been in management. He is a member of AWWA and WEF and currently serves as the Education and Training Council Chair for the Intermountain Section and as the vice-chair of the AWWA National Management Development Committee. He also serves as a Director on the Blue Stakes of Utah Board of Directors, where he has served for the past 13 years. He served 3 years as the Chair of the AWWA National Management Development Committee and 7 years as Chair of the Management Development Committee for the Intermountain Section. Mark has been involved in coaching youth basketball and soccer most of his married years, but decided to hang it up in order to enjoy watching his younger boys play ball. He is a Salt Lake City native; is married to Julie, his sweetheart of 31 years, and has 4 children and 4 grandchildren. |
